Modernism was a cultural movement that was born at the end of the XIX Century and marked the most modern trend of the time. This style had a very special and significant impact on Barcelona both architecturally and in decoration and fine arts. Currently many of the modernist buildings are recognised by UNESCO as World Heritage sites.
